The song was written a few days before I was scheduled to record a different song at Monte Studio in London. I was home strumming a few chords when this sequence popped up out of nowhere, and I really appreciated it so much that I decided to change plan last minute.
In this case I didn't have any arrangement done, but I had only four chords and a kind of a story line in mind, an astronaut lost in space about to enter and experience what is like to go through a black hole.
Luckily the majority of the ideas for the arrangement came to me while I was recording.
For the song, I had the pleasure to collaborate with one of the most talented sax players I've ever met, Jonny Chung, who agreed to come along and record the sax parts.
The word Coronet in the title is a tribute to a pub on Holloway road (London) where I hang out with my friends and get pissed.
